Organized by Messe Muenchen India, air cargo Africa 2023 will bring together global leaders from the air cargo fraternity to ideate, innovate, and collaborate for thriving business on the African continent. One of the key highlights at this trade fair is the conference program, including the Pharma Shippers Forum that features thought leaders from the global healthcare and pharma logistics sectors. The Pharma Shipper Forum at air cargo Africa 2023 will be presented by Pharma.Aero, the global cross-industry collaboration platform for Life Science and MedTech stakeholders.

Frank Van Gelder, Secretary General of Pharma.Aero, says, “We are delighted to participate at air cargo Africa 2023 because it is the right platform to address different aspects of the industry in this important region which holds tremendous potential for global impact. The fast-changing pharma logistics industry is facing multiple challenges as well as emerging opportunities. Disruptions over the past few years have reemphasized the importance of flexibility to adapt to changing scenarios. Therefore, we see an intensified need to increase our collaboration in the African continent to promote healthcare access and further the impact of global pharma developments. Across the globe, there is growing focus on sustainability, decentralized production, increasing healthcare access, and improving the overall quality of life. In particular, Africa allows us to look at new different pharma logistics models that combine air cargo with larger multimodal integrations.”

Driving collaborations through thought leadership

During air cargo Africa 2023, Pharma.Aero will bring their members together at a specialized exhibition hall called the Pharma.Aero Pavilion. Frank Van Gelder says, “This pavilion will bring our members under a pharma-focused umbrella within the conference and offer focused networking opportunities that facilitate business. Pharma.Aero will also organize the Pharma Shippers Forum in which we will highlight a few of the most important aspects relevant to the African continent. Through this forum we hope to gather multiple viewpoints on the theme of ‘The challenges to assure healthcare for everyone: the role air cargo stakeholders can play in joining forces with the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Industry’. After a brief presentation on this theme, we will continue with a deep-dive panel discussion involving Pharma.Aero member stakeholders elaborating their vision for the industry.”

Regarding its organic growth plans on the global level, Frank Van Gelder says, “We will continue being a global thought leader when it comes to life science logistics and supply chains. Over the past few years, Pharma.Aero has grown by launching several cutting-edge projects, collaborations within the industry and between the life science manufacturers and air cargo service suppliers. We will further intensify these efforts by providing insights, addressing new trends, and questioning current aspects to improve results for the entire industry. We will connect with industry stakeholders at conferences worldwide, but also at our annual Pharma Logistics Masterclass which is the source for many important innovative and analytical insights, fueling future strategies for the life science and MedTech industries.”
